spacemacs/copy-and-comment-line does not accept text-objects

The gc command works in a vimmish manner where it accepts a text-object unless in visual mode, where it simply comments out the visual selection. gy (copy-and-comment-line) on the other hand simply mimics the visual mode behavious correctly. In normal mode it works only on the current line.
