The current default datadir is /var/run/proxysql , that is, through symlink, a tmpfs on Debian based distro (ex Ubuntu)

It needs to be moved to /var/lib, that according to wikipedia:
/var/lib
State information. Persistent data modified by programs as they run, e.g., databases, packaging system metadata, etc.
