Assembling of CPDLC messages

Hi,
A nice additional feature would be if libacars could automatic assemble CPDLC messages / replace the placeholders, eg.:
REQUEST DIRECT TO [position] => REQUEST DIRECT TO GAMLI

Is something like this planned?

There are nearly 200 message elements and over 200 data types standardized in CPDLC. Essentially the whole parser code is currently generated automatically from the abstract syntax specification which guarantees 100% correctness and adherence to the specs. Formatting and printing is done per data type rather than per message type, which significantly reduces the amount of code. The current display format also guarantees a concise and unambiguous output for every possible message structure. Implementing the feature that you propose would involve a ton of manual work, since every supported message element would need its dedicated formatting routine. It would also be error-prone and difficult to test in an automated manner. Hence no, this feature will not be implemented.
