Hidden wifi #4
Comments
You can't hide it due to the 3ds needing to scan for the network. You could look into filtering MAC addresses so only your 3ds is allowed to connect. I found a guide that's a little old but might be useful: http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20041005183041743 |
Apparently this guide relies on NetInfo Manager, and from what I know (but I'm a noob), NetInfo has been removed since OSX 10.6 at least. |
Sadly it looks like you're correct that it requires NetInfo, which doesn't exist anymore on 10.8.x. I've not too well versed in the alternative, which seems to be using bootpd (from the command line) to filter by MAC address. Unable to find anything beyond that. Sorry! Will keep an eye out, though. |
Closing this since it doesn't appear to have any solution and is outside the scope of what this utility is aimed at. |
Hello,
First, thanks for this script, it's awesome.
Question: is there a way to setup a hidden wifi as a sharing point?
Opening my network to anyone kind of bothers me.
Or is there any way to secure at least a bit the wireless network?
Thanks!
