A few weeks back we compiled out the use of the Metrics feature by default across all applications and libraries #5944

Somewhere in the repo the metrics have been re-enabled by default and it's causing the ffi libraries to panic.

Couldn't find a problem to fix. Did see metrics building in the logs on CI, but the latest rc.1 version was built correctly and does not suffer the issue. Not sure why rc.0 did build with it but for now, I'm going to close the issue.
