Issue when saving roster assignments #678

To reproduce:
Edit roster assignments for some roster view
Make a change
Click save
Expect: The roster is saved and now shows up in 'read' mode
Actual: The page reloads but the roster is still in 'edit' mode

You have to click 'save' a second time for it to get back to 'read' mode.

Only sometimes.... need to work out the exact scenario
