- perhaps possible to get the whole list of potential barriers into type 2 as goal of the work?
- such that robot is always able to call for help
- at least for all the barriers that I am aware of - that I consider in the work
- could be interesting -> many monitoring nodes:
- gps monitoring -> no signal -> call for help
- sensor (RIEGL) monitoring -> no scan / outdated scan -> call for help
- etc.

  • and then take 1-3 that are even classified type 1 afterwards (robot can resolve issue by itself)

I'd like to have some sort of table for the list of potential causes of failure for LTA systems..

something like:

that would definitely be a contribution, even if I'm not able to solve all of them, I can at least try to detect all of them and to state some ideas of how to solve them..

The list could be considered a real contribution of my work - I didn't find such a list anywhere in the literature.

  • reasonable to talk about the general issues to be solved for robust LTA systems
  • structured part of my work to discuss these challenges

  • perspective: In the second half of my thesis, I could switch positions in the PORTAL project
    • docking more or less done (at a state where we can make a cut for now)
    • shift my Hiwi work to simply practically support a little more (go with in the field) and then collect experience reports
    • then I can argue that certain issues in fact occurred in practice in our project.. good source
    • list should be complete beforehand -> then in practice confirm issues / underpin
  • like Kunze paper: those are the issues you should think about when you want to establish LTA for a robot on a field
  • kind of a check list -> could be a valuable contribution
  • also classify - how bad / how to detect / how to approach / solve?
  • however, don't lose focus of the work
  • my focus: List the issues and then provide monitoring approaches to detect these problems
  • potentially solve 1 or 2
  • question of relevance is out-of-scope for my work: We just qualitatively saw that there are these issues that could be relevant, the actual relevance should be empirically evaluate as future work perhaps

For each problem, write a short paragraph of why it is a problem and things like that.. + own assessment of how significant it is
