I am trying to install a package that requires sdl_image.

It is available at https://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_image
The link to the source code is available right from that page.

I have not tried to compile this package myself.

Thank you very much for all your help. I was trying to install KoboDeluxe since I played the heck out of xkobo way back in my college days.

It has a configure script, and when I ran it again now that sdl-image is available, it said I had the wrong version of SDL (requires 1.2.0 or above), but running sdl-config --version echoes 1.2.15. When I looked at the generated config.log file, it also said it couldn't find X because the file X.h was missing from usr/bin/X11. Apparently it tried to install a sample program and reported whatever exceptions came up.

Getting KoboDeluxe installed and running would just be a luxury anyhow, but I thought it would be nice for a games repo. I did manage to get a roguelike game called Powder, which uses SDL 1.2, installed and running on arm, in case somebody would want that for a games repo as well.
