  3. Here Followeth some Expressions of his, amongst a few Friends, near a week before his Departure this Life.

  1. This is the Word of the Living God to his Church he hath called and chosen out of the World,1653 to place his Name into, order, and guide in his pure Wisdom to his praise and glory, who alone is worthy God over all blessed for ever.

  2. This is the Word of the Lord to thee Oliver Cromwell, called, Lord Protector.

  3. The Mighty Day of the Lord is comming, in which Christ knocks at the door of the Heart of Kindreds, Tongues, People and Nations, who desire to know the only true God, and Iesus Christ whom he hath sent, to be the Light of the World, and Salvation to the Ends of the Earth, to all that obey him; but a stumbling Stone and a Rock of offence to all that resist his Counsel, whom he will take in their own Craft, and overturn in their own Devices, to the shame and confusion of their Faces; but they that believe in him shall never be ashamed. This was given forth in the common Goal in Northampton, the 7th day of the 11th Month, 1655. by William Dewsbery, there Prisoner for the Word of God and Testimony of Iesus. DEar Friends, Servants and Children of the most high God, whom he hath called and chosen out of the ALL Saints and Children of the most high God, abide with God in the calling whereunto you are calledDEar Friends, meet often together in the Name and fear of the living God, and take heed of Words; seMY dear Friends, this is the Word of the Lord to you all whom my Father hath chosen out of the World

THE DISCOVERY Of the great Enmity of the SERPENT Against the Seed of the Woman, which witnesseth against him where he Rules, both in Rulers, Priests and People; whose hearts are now made manifest in this great day of the Lords Power; wherein he is sending his Sons and Daughters in the Power of his Spirit to run to and fro to declare his Word.

To all you that Rule in England, from the highest to the lowest, whom the Lord hath intrusted with power, to see the Peace be kept, and to judge the Cause of the People: He hath given you Power their Causes to judge with Righteous Judgement, the Evil-doers to Punish, and the Righteous set Free out of the Hands of those that oppress them.

  7. O England, England! over all in thee I lament, who Persecutes the Sons and Daughters of the most high God, he hath to thee sent, thee to forewarn of the evil day that is coming upon thee.

To all the Faithful in CHRIST, Who Have stood in his Counsel the Light, to be led in the Foot-steps of the Flock of the Companions, and to all that profess the Light of Christ to be their Guide: To you I write these following Lines, to be seriously weighed, in the weighty and ponderous Spirit, wherein you may discern a Discovery of a false Birth, in some, that came forth with us, as to own the Light, in their Iudgments, and go forth from us, in rejecting the stroak of the pure judgments of God, through the working of the mystery of iniquity, and so become as the untimely Birth, that doth not see the Sun in his glory, nor the beauty of Sion (who hath passed through death un•o life) in her comely unity in the Spirit and bond of peace: He that can receive it, let him, n•w in the cool of •he day, when Counsel may be hearkened unto, and rightly understood in the Truth, as it is in Iesus.

The Word of the Lord, to his beloved City, New Ierusalem, come from God, cloathed with the excellency of the Glory of his Love; and is the Bride, the Lambs Wife, with the flowings of the tender compassionate Bowels of the Lord Jesus, to all the Mourners in Sion, and the Afflicted desolate People, who wait for his comming as for the Morning, and hath not satisfaction in any thing, but in the enjoyment of his sweet and comfortable Presence.

  17. The Breathings of Life To God's Spiritual Israel, Through A faithful Follower of the Lamb, in the Regeneration and Kingdom of Patience and Tribulation; and now a Sufferer in Bonds for the Testimony of the Lord Jesus, known to the World by the Name of William Deusbury.

  18. The Word of the Lord to Sion the New Ierusalem, the Bride the Lambs Wife, the E•cellency of all the Glory that is amongst the People; though she be now in deep Sufferings, in fulness of time God will clear the Innocency of her Children; and all the Nations of the Earth shall call her the Blessed of the Lord; yea, the holy City, in whom the Lord dwells, to manifest his Glory upon the Earth amongst the Children of men forever.

  19. To all the Faithful and Suffering Members in all Holes, Prisons and Goals, for the Word of God and Testimony of Jesus Christ; with the rest of the Faithful where-ever scatter'd upon the Face of the Ear•h.

  20. Oh thou beloved Seed of God in London, Hartford, Bristol, Redding, and Colchester, with all in other Places where the Power of Hell, and Darkness is begun to make War in the fierceness of his Wrath, and great Fury, as though he would destroy and utterly lay waste.

  21. 1665This for Dear Friends in London, and them that are Aboard the Ship, in order to Transportation; or elsewhere all abarod.

  22. For the dear Daughters of Sion whom the Lord hath or shall suffer, their dear and tender Husbands to be separated from them beyond the Seas, or else-where, for the Testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  23. For my dear honorable Brethren, who are or may be sentenced to be Transported to the Isles beyond the Sea, for the Testimony of the Name of the Lord Jesus.

  24. The Word of the Lord to all Children born again of the Immortal Seed as the Salutation of the Bowels of the unlimitted Love of the Father, flowing forth to you in the forcible Power of his own Life, thorow your Brother and Companion in Tribulation, and Kingdom of Patience in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  25. The Discovery of Mans return to his first Estate, by the Operation of the Power of God, in the great work of Regeneration. And a Word to the Back-slider, who hath tasted of the good Word of God, and the Powers of the World to come, and hath turned from the Grace of God, into wantonness, and gone back into spiritual Sodom and Egypt, where our Lord is crucified.

  26. To all revolted Souls who have departed from the Counsel of the Lord, and are made drunk with the Wine of the wrath of the Fornication of the Whore,Rev. 8.3. bewitched with the Mother of Withcraft to return into Spiritual Sodom and Egypt, where our Lord is Crucified.

  27. The discovery of Mystery Babylon, to all enslaved Captives in Babylons Kingdom, who are made Drunk with the Wine of the Wrath of he Fornications,Rev. 18.3. and bewitched through the multitudes of her Inchantments.

To all inslaved hard-hearted,Rev. 18.3. and unbelieving Jews in this Nation, and elsewhere, who are made drunk with the Wisdom of the Whore, and bewitched through the abundance of Sorceries, to put the Day of the Lord afar off, looking for Christs coming in the Spirit, as the hard-hearted unbelieving Iews in the Letter, did for his coming in the Flesh, according to the promise; but they limited the Holy One, according to their carnal wisdom, expected his coming in great Pomp and Glory: and when he came in that poor despised way,Luke 2.7. Mat. 13.54, 55, 56, 57. Mark. 6.4. contrary to their expectations, they stumbled at him, and would not own him to be their Saviour, but rose up against him, and put him to Death, Matth. 27.1. to vers. 50.

  29. A Word from the Lord to all that are waiting on the Lord in Sion: and those that are weeping, and are seeking the Lord their God, asking the way to Sion with their Faces thitherwards.
