The concatenated USFM file contains 76 verses that contain an asterisk:

Panjabi.diatheke.asterisks.txt

What are these for?

If maybe they were footnote tags (or markers for words in a glossary), we must still decide what to do with them. Without the actual footnotes (or glossary) they don't have any added value.
