They really need a nerf, this doesn't address the issue other than making it rarer. |
Just let planting kudzu take a couple of seconds, half the bullshit is the fact that it is planted instantly. |
@optimumtact its easier to isolate changes needed by keeping it to testing conditions only as per general rule rather than exploding in people's faces every other round with people getting angry trying to kill it in what can be a uphill battle. Similar problem arises with a lot of botany as to how strong/weak things should be in response to availability, removing accessibility to podpeople for instance in @KorPhaeron 's words is "removing fun toys from botanists" so really go fight between yourselves @maintainers on whats right. |
It needs a nerf, it's obvious it needs a nerf, simply making it less accessible doesn't help at all. I'd halve it's growth rate and stop it growing through doors and windows/walls |

Yeah, those airlocks are supposed to be airtight but apparently space plants can grow through it because reasons. |
Its because kudzu is a type of flooring, that could be subject to a nerf. |

Removing bluespace mutation should help, along with giving a channel time to plant seeds so you can't sax while planting |
My suggestion: Remove the bluespace mutation, the one that eats walls and the one that allows it to spread into space. That way, it pretty much stays as it is in terms of balance, but you will have to access or atleast open up every area you want grown over, and since they no longer spread into space, there is no longer an infinitely regrowing source all around the station. |
All you need to do is limit growth rate and probably remove bluespace. Without bluespace they are a LOT less broken. Instead they'll be limtied by damaging vines eating doors |

I think its space growing capability needs to be removed. The fact that it can grow into a larger then the station blob that (anecdotally) breaks the MC is unacceptable. The fact it is functionally unfightable because even as you're clearing the station its encircling it from outside is just a cherry on top. |

@Cyberboss Literally yesterday we had a MC crash, which obviously I can't specifically point to the kudzu but at the time it was larger then the station and almost everyone was dead. And even if its not crashing the MC, what purpose is there to kudzu growing in a fashion which is near impossible to stop, given the limited number of spacesuits and the vast size of the z-level for it to grow into? |
Does kudzu grow only on space tiles adjacent to the station or on all space tiles? |
@CPTANT All In fact, someone accidentally took the kudzu with them on the White Ship and it grew uncontrollably even on another zlevel |

Traitor botanists can reliably turn the station into kudzu hell within 15 minutes of round start. I don't think I need to elaborate on why this gets boring quickly.
