Look I SWEAR this was a thing at one point.

About The Pull Request

At some point in the past, likely due to the addition of bounties, we got rid of the ability to sell organs over the black market. Personally I don't know if there was a specific reason, but all organ sales got moved over to individual bounties instead, which is fine, but the flavor of selling organs over the black market in cargo is still very nice. To balance the possible ease involved in mass-producing monkey cubes and butchering them for tasty, tasty organs, I set most all organ values exceedingly low, but if you really wind up with a dozen pairs of standard, organic human hearts than who am I to judge?

Why It's Good For The Game

We've had the blurb on the wiki that selling you can sell organs over the black market for years, and honestly I was convinced you still could until coul made me realize you couldn't. Also opens up the possibility of selling upgraded organs legally if anyone's interested in that, but this was just done in the interest of parity with the old mechanic.

I don't think this is an good idea, organs are already requested by bounties and providing money for each organ while also giving a reward for the bounty ontop of that will probably cause issues. Even with costs low monkeys are basically an endless resource and getting 70$ per gibbed monkey plus whatever bounties are offered/rewarded has a way of snowballing fast

cost = 20

Not so sure how I feel about this. We could split the difference and make it alien organs?

Couldn't you easily fix the bounty issue by subtracting the organ's non bounty sale from the bounty? Then the bounty always gives what it used to and organs without a bounty on them give whatever you took from the bounty.

How about setting flags on organs inside of live player-controlled bodies and only giving profit on those, to keep the whole "cargo techs are gonna drug you, steal your liver and let you wake up in a locker in maintenance" vibe, with an equivalent reward for the live organ harvesting.

Well, lets think for a second. A single crate = 500 credits. A entire body with all it's organs butchered and put into the assembly line is only equal to 40 credits. You have to kill about 12 monkeys to even equal to a single crate. It would many times easier to just go to lavaland with the most basic mining gear and mine out a few pieces of plasma to get the same levels of profit as a few dozen bodies worth of organs.

@ArcaneMusic Yeah this was definitly a thing!
though hearts used to give 200 points(Most vital organs usually gave more points then the less vital organs liver etc etc)
5 credits is bad tbh

But if this is black market that mean it isn't centcom. because black market also forks to syndie gear etc etc

the organs are also affected by flexibility so their value will go under 2 credit after 2-3 sold ones 馃槀

Feel free to increase the price, nobody will go through the trouble of hacking the console to sell an organ for five (5) credits when you can just go to the minecraft planet and hit rocks for money
