How to achive multi-tenant with Sidecar

Hello,

As we can’t use Netdata to remote_write to Thanos (Bug : netdata/netdata#14482)

We are trying to do multi-tenant with Sidecar, but I can’t figure how to replicate the behavior.

We have several teams, each team have a pool of server.

We saw that we can setup an 'external_labels' into the 'global' section of Prometheus, but it’s for everything that Prometheus is scraping.

global:
  # The labels to add to any time series or alerts when communicating with
  # external systems (federation, remote storage, Alertmanager).
  external_labels:
    [ [<labelname>]: [<labelvalue>] ... ]

How can we specify the tenant for each host we will scrap ?

Reponse to myself.

It’s not possible to set "external_labels" per target.

It's global to the whole Prometheus.

So in the scope of Thanos :
1 prometheus with sidecar = 1 set of exernal labels = 1 stream in the store.
