Letterhead for Augusta University

Presentation

This is a letterhead for Augusta University. This template respects the brand strategy of the University (as detailed in its "Brand Guidelines 7.23 2023.pdf" document, p. 139--140) and was approved by Augusta University's graphic designers.

The official docx template can be found on the DCM website, hidden in a box folder. The template adapted to the School of Cyber and Computer Sciences is also on box. Note that those templates actually do not respect the brand strategy, since they do not include foldmarks (the small lines on the left side).

Instructions

Simply run

make

Requires:

  • pandoc (tested with pandoc 3.1.9)
  • XeLaTeX (tested with XeTeX 3.141592653-2.6-0.999995 (TeX Live 2023))

If the CrimsonPro font is installed in your system, then you can comment out

Path = CrimsonPro/,

in template.tex and delete the CrimsonPro/ folder. This way, you will not duplicate the font files every time you write a new letter.

Personalization

This template uses Pandoc variables to personalize some parameters of the letter. Refer to letter.md for an example of how to set them up. Note that they can also be set directly from the Makefile, as documented in the Makefile.

cc A list of persons in copy of your letter None
attachment A list of files to include in the pdf None See below
compact Enter a value (any value) to adopt a more compact signature Not activated This impacts only the signature.

Arguments in bold are mandatory.

WARNING, attachments are quite experimental, as they embed the documents in the pdf itself. The attachfile2 package beyond this feature is not maintained, as far as I know, in part because embedding documents in pdf is under-specified. The embedfile package could be a good alternative, but it is not available for XeLaTeX.

In the file template.tex, change the content of the "firstfoot" koma variable if you belong to a different school.
