What's the status of the API according to http://jsonapi.org?

Is it compliant and/or are there plans to make it that way if not already?

Wanted to give this a bump since there are some great benefits to conforming to the spec.

Not breaking widely used working APIs. If we need to introduce a v2 of endpoints in future, can consider this.
