Basically we would be an "extension" of Mastodon :) 
I.e. Masto with enhanced Facepage-like features.

Ok. Well count me in. I'd love to help out when and where I can. Most of my programming 
experience is in C and C++. I've done some stuff with Java and PHP, but dislike both. 
I've also dabbled in Python, Lua, bash, C#, and PowerShell. I'm interested in learning Rust.

Regarding langs:
Apparently Mastodon backend is Ruby on Rails with React.js frontend.
I think Rust would be way cool (and secure!), but we may have to do some API porting if we 
want to integrate with existing toots.
