Ensure compilation works without Nordic SDK.
Ensure flashing works with west tool.
Update relevant build instructions.
Ensure Zephyr flags are still correct.
Fix any C++17 compilation issues.
Revalidate on live devices.

- Verified against Estimote est0117 beacon device (nRF52832 based)
- Fixed various C++ 17 standard (non-GNU) compilation issues

Confirmed successful build for nRF SDK 2.6.1.
