SilverSpace v1.2.0 Release Notes

SilverSpace v1.2.0 brings several improvements and new features to enhance the quality of the system and user experience. This version focuses on better movie recommendations, a more user-friendly interface, improved uptime for the web application, and integration with multiple APIs.

New Features

  • Enhanced movie recommendations: SilverSpace v1.2.0 uses improved algorithms to provide better movie recommendations based on input
  • Improved user interface: The new version features a more user-friendly interface, making it easier for users to navigate through the app. We have also incorporated CSS into Streamlit to enhance the app's look & feel. Minor implementations of JavaScript has also been incorporated.
  • Improved uptime: Several improvements have been made on the backend to ensure the web app is more stable, resulting in better up-time.
  • Integration with multiple APIs: SilverSpace v1.2.0 integrates with several APIs such as OMDB, TMDB, and YouTube API to provide users with more information about movies. The access tokens for these keys are maintained as app service's environment variable to prevent data leaks
  • Hoisting the app using Azure App Services: The app is now hoisted using Azure App Services, resulting in a more reliable app performance.
  • Storing pickle files in Azure Blob storage: We now stores pickle files in Azure Blob storage, ensuring the data's security, & better availability.
