Miza requires the member list of all servers she is currently in, for various commands as well as features, notably:
- User lookup for commands such as ~icon
- Detecting whether a member is in the server for moderation purposes, such as ~rolepreserver and ~autorole
- Finding a random user in the server for flavour text
- Detecting administrator roles on members to automatically allow moderation commands for them
- Detecting whether there are members in VC with Miza
- Moderation features such as ~memberlog
To opt out from Miza seeing you or other users in her member list, either remove Miza from the server, or leave the server if you are not an administrator. Miza will promptly remove you from her list of members for the server.
Miza requires the data within messages being posted in servers, for the following features:
- Basic commands (Commands invoked through Miza's prefix (defaults to
~
), rather than slash commands (many commands still do not function correctly if invoked outside this). - Commands with file attachments, or commands with a message link to a file attachment
- Moderation features such as ~messagelog
- Message relay features, such as ~crosspost
To opt out from Miza seeing your message content, one can perform either of the options for opting out of Miza's member list. Deleting the message or waiting up to 28 days will also work, upon which Miza will automatically wipe the cached messages from her database. Such message data will never be directly accessed, is encrypted in stasis, only to be used for the purposes listed above.
Apart from messages and member list, Miza also will store the following data when appropriate (this data will never be directly accessed or sold, only used to improve ability and efficiency of commands, for example recalling messages when asked);
- Miza will store server, channel and user IDs for most commands that have a saved state
- Miza will keep a cache of user avatar icons so they do not disappear once the associated image disappears from Discord
- Miza will keep a log of user events for the ~activity command
- As a fun feature, Miza has a 1 in 1000 chance of reacting to any message with a sparkle; this also awards extra currency to the user
These stores of data are less specific and thus not as easy to opt out of. For the instances of data associated to commands, you would once again need to remove Miza from the relevant server. As for single users who do not want her services, you may block Miza, which will stop all logging and reactions.
Miza has a file hosting service at https://mizabot.xyz/files. This service is completely free to use, is secured by HTTPS, and as of the latest updates, no longer has a lifetime or filesize limit for uploads. The following privacy concerns are addressed here:
- Uploaded files are retained as byte chunks across different servers, and are not stored in a directly readable format normally.
- File data may be backed up and copied internally for stability purposes, but will never be accessed by anyone besides the uploader and whomever they share the link with.
- An edit link is provided with every uploaded file. This link grants the ability to replace or delete the file, which will immediately and permanently remove the existing file, links, as well as all cache and backup copies on the server and cloud. The edit link is not retrievable through the share link, so it should be saved somewhere after upload to avoid losing access.
- Files that are deleted through the edit page are not retrievable under any circumstance. If you believe a file you uploaded went missing through other means, please make a report in the support server. Under these circumstances, a backup may still be available.
- We value your privacy and will never open your files without permission, but this also makes the service vulnerable to scams, malware, and other illegal content. If there are any links shared that you believe violate terms of service or laws, please report!
For any further questions or issues, as always, join the support server!
This multipurpose discord bot uses an Alias from a popular indie game called Cave Story, published by Diasuke Amaya (Pixel) in 2004. Cave Story is a video featuring the main protagonist, Quote, and the main antagonist, the Doctor. The Doctor uses an item called the Demon Crown to control his minions in the game who are named Balrog and Misery. Misery is a blue haired witch in the game who comes from a family of magic users. Her brothers name is Ballos who is another main antagonist in the game of Cave Story. Her mother's name is Jenka who is a friendly and elderly witch located in the Sandzone. All of them possess magical abilities varying to certain degrees. Misery's name was shortened to "Miza" to shorten the pronunciation and to make it easier to remember. For more information about Misery, please visit this [link](https://cavestory.fandom.com/wiki/Misery).
This video game takes quite a turn when it comes to modding the game. Originally, this bot was used to find NPCs, IDs, and Hex Addresses for editing the freeware version of the game at its source. It then evolved into a multipurpose bot as her creator sought to find out what he could accomplish through her. Miza now has expanded into so much more than a bot designed for Cave Story modding and has became a useful part for many people on Discord everyday! She can now play music, convert files, perform many different calculations, graph, show server statistics, user statistics, and so much more. We hope you enjoy exploring Miza's many functions and don't hesitate to ask questions or notify us on issues!
