Finally got some more progress on this, I currently have synced a node against Qanet from 0 on a machine that has 400+ gb storage. It synced without problems.

It seems like there are issues when trying to sync a node on a machine that has a low amount of storage, since the machine we are trying to sync on only has a 119gb volume mounted on the storage directory. I also found this issue: https://substrate.stackexchange.com/questions/6337/collator-node-starts-failing-to-import-blocks-with-database-and-block-has-an where someone reported similar behaviour and that the issue was storage.

Let's validate this on a new machine with enough storage @coesensbert
