How feasible would it be to store the last servertickle command to flash? That way if the computer crashes/power cycles and the blink1-tool script doesn't run automatically (maybe stuck at the BIOS screen or something stupid like that), the blink(1) will run the last servertickle sequence that was issued to the device until it receives it's next command signalling everything is OK.
