Log rack attack / too many requests events #7095

I found myself in the situation to want to understand why / which of the rules caused a user to get a "too many requests" error. I have looked but found no logging for that.

Would mastodon be open for a patch in the lines of https://gitlab.com/artofhuman/gitlab-ce/blob/master/config/initializers/rack_attack_logging.rb ? Should this be in an initialiser too, or is there another better place?


  • I searched or browsed the repo’s other issues to ensure this is not a duplicate.
  • This bug happens on a tagged release and not on master (If you're a user, don't worry about this).
