ComputerNetwork is a decentralized social network built on top of WebTorrent. It enables users to establish browser-to-browser connections to share posts, files, etc. Join our Discord server to know more.

- User identity is a private key, randomly generated during their first visit.

Under the hood, ComputerNetwork uses its own protocol, which is a Torrent BEP-10 extension.
To use ComputerNetwork, visit https://computernetwork.app. You should see peers from the Internet starting to connect and posts coming in. Keep your browser tab open so that people can connect to it.
Note: If there are few active nodes, or if your node is behind NAT (Network Address Translation), connections over the Internet may not be possible. In this case, try the local setup as described below.
- Visit the website to start node A in your browser.
- Open an incognito tab, visit the website for node B.
- Check the number of connected peers (bottom right); see if A connected to B.
- If A connected to B, begin sending/receiving messages.
To start development, use the following commands:

To run the app on your own server, execute these commands:

- In Brave browser, Brave Shield can sometimes block websocket connections. To ensure the app functions properly, you need to turn off Brave Shield.
