This issue can also serve as discussion if any comes up.

I think it would be cool to have metrics (such as player stats), as well as a backend for persistence (allowing for future mtx or some sort of free progression system). I've already started the backend over in Sports Backend.

We should discuss how we'll handle data transfer (json?) and whether we care about data integrity at the moment.
