Clarification on where to put my plugins?

Hi,

Could you clarify something for me? I'm working on a plugin and I'm ready to start testing it. However, the install & test directions say to create a directory called .steampipe/plugins/local/myplugin for my plugin to live. The instructions also said to create a .steampipe/config/myplugin.spc that points to local/myplugin. However, when I execute steampipe query, it complains the following:

❯ steampipe query
Error: no plugin installed matching schema hub.steampipe.io/plugins/local/myplugin@latest

Now, I can put the myplugin.plugin in the .steampipe/plugins/hub.steampipe.io/plugins/local/myplugin directory, just the instructions don't say to put it there. Perhaps the docs are out of date, or there's some special flag I missed?

hmmm ... it looks like our instructions there might be wrong ... sorry.

When developing plugins, I usually start with an existing one and rename the various files / references.

The Makefile for the plugins contain this build instruction which works for me each time. Suggest you try that for the installation location of the plugin you are developing:

go build -o ~/.steampipe/plugins/hub.steampipe.io/plugins/myorg/myplugin@latest/steampipe-plugin-myplugin.plugin *.go

I've also noticed that the instructions on the Writing Your Own Plugin page reference an older version of the Zendesk plugin that doesn't include ConnectionConfigSchema. The new version of the plugin does.
