[Feature Request] Warn before posting image with no alt-text #1049
Comments
closed in error :S |
Hey |
Just wanted to write this issues as well. I am not the most active Mastodon user. Often I just forget that the ability to enter an alt-text exists until someone has already reacted to the post. I'd love to use it more. |
Toot! for iOS has a nice feature where you can enable a setting that enforces image descriptions, example at https://eldritch.cafe/@shahaan/105827378430327515. @crishaddad would this be a solution for you, too? |
FWIW if this was an optional feature (i.e. a per user setting) I'd enable it on my account because I'd rather have the reminder than forget. |
As suggested in #3555 i think it would be great if there was one notification, with a short explanation why image descriptions are important, the first time someone posts an image (without a description) and let them select there if they want a popup reminder en- or disabled. i quite often miss the small indicator that the description is missing. |
