These are all available on npm:

  • gusty
  • trablovo
  • twish
  • twings
  • twilt
  • twind
  • twinjet
  • twiny
  • twizz
  • tawie
  • tawy
  • tawing
  • straalwind
  • venta
  • velado
  • vetra

The next ones are squatted. We could reach out to npm for these.

My favorites are:

  • twish
  • tw
  • twin (altough it kinda collides with twin.macro)
  • twind
  • twings

I choose these because they have a tw in the name which is our main export.

@lukejacksonn What do you think? For tw and twin we must reach out to npm.

Do you want to go for something that's googleable? That would imply the name should be somehow unique and not close to some other term that has a lot of popularity. Ideally you would have something that's easy to pronounce as well without a huge difficulty.

https://www.npmjs.com/package/oceanbeam is free on npm. I found https://github.com/OceanBeam/OceanBeam but it looks like it has been abandoned by the author. This option wouldn't likely work if you want to maintain a reference to tailwind, though.

I think tw for the actual package name is pretty ideal although pretty ungoogleable. I've been working with twind so far and I like it.. it is available on npm but I don't know if they will let you publish on it due to it being "too similar to another package name" but I haven't tried.

Yeah, twind isn't too bad or congested. It's a nice play on tailwind as well. 👍 for that.

Ok, nice.. I just tried to publish and it worked, so lets move forward with this:

npm i twind

👍

I'll change all references and publish the package under the new name.
