update lodash to 4.17.11 and some updates to minor version

outstanding:
webpack-dev-server and jest still has high severity security vulnerabilities

there's no easy fix for webpack-dev-server so we're parking this for now and might re visit it on a later date

for jest the issue is not resolved for version 23.6.0 and version 24 does not seem as performant
jestjs/jest#7811
