ColorScan

A Chrome extension that finds the color palette of a given webpage.

Features

  • Simple and intuitive UI that displays the HEX code of each color
  • Automatically detects all colors used in a webpage, including those defined in CSS files
  • Supports RGB and HSL color formats, and converts them to HEX format for easy copying
  • Click on a color to copy its HEX code to your clipboard

Installation

To install this extension, follow these steps:

  • Clone or download this repository to your computer.
  • Open Google Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions.
  • Turn on "Developer mode" by toggling the switch in the upper right-hand corner.
  • Click the "Load unpacked" button in the upper left-hand corner.
  • Select the directory where you cloned or downloaded this repository. The ColorScan extension should now be installed and ready to use.

Usage/Examples

  • Navigate to any webpage where you want to pick a color.
  • Click on the ColorScan icon in your browser toolbar to activate the extension.
  • The extension will automatically detect all colors used in the webpage and display them in a popup window.
  • Click on a color to copy its HEX code to your clipboard.
