docker-perforce

Automated build of docker image to host a perforce server

Build and run

If you are building from source:

git pull https://github.com/uclatommy/docker-perforce.git
docker-compose build
docker volume create --name=perforce-depot
docker-compose up

If you intend to run from the prebuilt docker image:

docker pull uclatommy/docker-perforce
docker run -p 1666:1666 -e P4JOURNAL=/var/log/perforce/journal -e P4LOG=/var/log/perforce/p4err -e P4ROOT=/perforce_depot -e P4PORT=localhost:1666 --name perforce-server --mount source=perforce-depot,destination=/perforce_depot uclatommy/docker-perforce:0.1 /docker-perforce/p4dservice start

User setup

At this point, you should have a running instance of the server. By default, it is built to not require a password. Next, you'll want to download the perforce client tools to setup the repository users. By default, the server will allow anyone to create a new user so once you have created your first admin user through the client tools, you should disable this:

docker exec perforce-server p4 set P4USER=[your.username]
docker exec perforce-server p4 configure set dm.user.noautocreate=2
