I encountered an error while trying to run the object detection script detect.py on my computer. The error message indicates an AttributeError related to the 'cv2' module and the 'setNumThreads' function.

You need to update your opencv-python library.
I tested in mine, and it worked.

I have been using the latest version of the OpenCV library on my computer system, specifically OpenCV version 4.8.0.76. However, it was not working with the latest version of cv2. After I installed your cv2 version on my computer system, it started working. I guess it's not compatible with the latest cv2 version but works fine with 4.8.0.74.
