Sketch x Universe

Sketch is arguably the most used tool by product designers. Not only does it provide the necessary tools for designers to bring a product to life, it is also quite easy to use and understand.

Here are some of the most commonly used actions and how to do them:

1. How to select individual elements

More often than not, you will notice that a lot of elements are grouped together. To select an individual element, hold down CMD and hover over and click the element you wish to select.

2. How to detect font styles

Double-click the text to reveal its styles in the sidebar. You may need to double-click it again to edit the text to reveal the styles.

3. How to detect spacing between elements

Hold down OPT and hover over the elements you wish to measure. Red lines and numbers should appear.

4. How to export elements

After selecting your element, go to the bottom right hand corner of your window. You'll find the Export section where you can change the size, the format and add a suffix/prefix.
