Unpflatview fails to display data

I have a view with unpFlatView that works as expected in an Xpage served by the Domino server. On Unplugged it doesn't display any data, just the view title bar. I've checked that the view doesn't use any banned functions. I've synced the whole DB to the device. nada. I've asked about in on StackOverflow as requested by Tim C, too (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24409986/unpflatview-fails-to-display-any-data).
Anything else I can check?

It's started to work as expected. With no changes made to the database design. How strange is that?

I have restarted the phone itself though. Could that have been the cause?

As far as I can tell this is unrelated to the Unplugged Controls and is an Unplugged issue itself. To prove or disprove this, can you add a simple XPage that doesn't use the Unplugged Controls and simply display a normal View in an XPage. This will allow us to see if this is a data issue or a controls issue.

The view and control work OK when served by the Domino server to a
browser. It fails - sometimes only; currently it is working OK - in
Unplugged. See the discussion on StackOverflow about it that Tim had me
start because he wasn't interested in the fact that it worked in a regular
browser at all.

As far as I can tell this is unrelated to the Unplugged Controls and is an
Unplugged issue itself. To prove or disprove this, can you add a simple
