The Bug
I run 4 live ships on my iMac, and up to 3 fake ships. This has worked fine for quite a while. Sometime in the last few weeks, perhaps around the time I upgraded everything to 411 (can't recall exactly) my ships, particularly the live ones would start crashing about once a day with the message, "loom: patch write: fail: No space left on device". Sometimes they all crash, sometimes just one or a few of them.
My computer tells me I have over 90gb of available storage, so I don't see how this error message could be accurate (unless macOS is bugged and I really am almost out of space? but I haven't seen any other indication that this is the case).
To Reproduce
Boot several ships
Use them
Be unfortunate?
System:
OS: macOS 14.4
Vere and Urbit OS versions are 3.0 and 411 for all my ships
%base hash is b4l49 for all my ships
Additional context
In case it could be relevant: The live ships are two planets, one of which is my daily driver, and two moons of the daily driver: one for hosting groups (which keep going down as a result of this crash) and one for distributing apps.
They sometimes crash while I'm using urbit or using my computer for other things, sometimes they crash while I'm away. It doesn't seem to be correlated with usage spikes.
Again, my local ship-running setup was working fine for quite a while, so either a recent change in urbit or a change in my machine (or both) occurred to cause this, but it's hard to say what.

Turns out my computer was lying to me about how much storage I had left, and I really was running out. >:(
Good news is vere seems to be working properly
