Does the battery icon on the Windows 10 taskbar not do anything now when clicked? #274
-
I finally got around to installing ExplorerPatcher on my laptop today, and one thing that I have noticed is that the battery icon on the task bar does not seem to open the battery flyout when it is clicked. The battery icon still visually shows the battery life and when hovered on, the tooltip still works, but clicking on the battery does not seem to do anything. I did not want to post this as a bug report because I am not sure if this is actually a bug or just something that is not possible to use with the 10 taskbar on 11. |

Quoting from README:
It's broken, I haven't spent time attempting to find the cause and fix it because once I discovered that, which also let's me change external monitor brightness with ease (previously I had coded myself a separate utility for that), the Windows 10 battery flyout seems like a sad joke. This works, supports high DPI icons, shows messages in the system language etc. Properly done, so to speak, or at least I like it very much. Thanks |

The classic battery flyout (as in windows 7) works. Maybe you can implement it in the settings. Its quite the same, as the suggested 3rd party battery manager. The registry key is: |

The taskbar battery icon flyout for Win10 is not by any means a "sad joke." It's the main reason I installed ExplorerPatcher. On my Thinkpad, when my power plan is set to "Balanced", the flyout shows a "Power mode" slider with three settings:
I use this many times every day, as I like quiet operation most of the time (fan off), but I click to When my power plan is set to anything other than "Balanced," the flyout isn't very useful, possibly leading to the "sad joke" assessment. This feature is working perfectly for me, on version 22621.1555.55.1 . |
