the user is always redirected to the homepage. Meaning, if they are on a subcategory and choose Mark as Read they won't remain where they were when they do the action but instead are re-directed.

A refresh would be more appropriate per a conversation I had with Linc.

To reproduce:
-Click inside a category to expose a subcategory list
-click the gear icon that appears on the category and select mark as read
-you will be re-directed to homepage.
