Hi there! I'm Ioannis (Yannis) Vasilopoulos. I specialize in Edge Computing and AI technologies and solutions. Currently, I work as an AI/ML Engineer at the Siemens HQ of the Production Machines Application Center in Prague. I am responsible for implementing AI customer projects and pre-sales consulting as well. - Evaluated Edge AI customer projects. Deployed Edge AI solutions for pilot projects. Designed and supervised non-functional requirements testing.
- Acted as the go-to technical expert and architect for the Industrial Edge Playground platform (SaaS). Co-driven the user journey design and translated business needs into technical solutions.
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Software Engineers, Marketing, Sales) to ensure a successful product go-to-market strategy.
- Presented Industrial Edge and AI solutions at major industry fairs such as Hannover Messe, SPS, and Siemens Technical Consultants Conference. Communicated product information across EMEA, AM, and APAC regions.
- Designed and implemented machine learning classification algorithms to predict drug solvation/hydration propensity. Collected and curated drug substance data, and trained Decision Tree and Logistic Regression models for this purpose.
- Developed deterministic mathematical models and combined them with Molecular Dynamics simulations to study the desolvation of pharmaceuticals.
- Analyzed complex datasets using Python to extract meaningful insights and support research hypotheses.
- Managed various research projects, including allocating budgets (salaries, equipment, software), planning research activities, and writing reports.
- Authored or co-authored three research papers and presented findings at various international conferences, such as the American Physics Society, EuroHPC Summit Week (EHPCSW), and International Crystallization School.
- Performed large parallel molecular dynamics simulations to study the stability of drug substances (HPC, Gromacs and Python).
