Can you add any limitations into the README?

What can't it do?

I'm not aware of any obvious limitations, but if you find any I will happily add them to the README file.

Well Synology VMM is not possible and using a Synology account is not available too.

As far I can see only a single networking adapter is available to the docker container, but you can connect to the (multiple) physical adapters on the host via the bridge connection.

  • Using a Synology account was possible in 7.01 and 7.1, but in 7.2 that page freezes. That was one of the reasons I reverted the default back to 7.1 temporarily. So hopefully this issue will resolve itself in the final version of 7.2.

  • Multiple network adapters would be very easy to add by extending the QEMU parameters in run.sh.

  • I didn't notice yet that VMM was not available, but running VM's inside a VM is not an ideal situation anyway, so I hope not many people will miss that functionality.

@kroese Can you bring those points out into the README, please? Will save you repeating yourself on future issues.

@aioue Some of those points are limitations of Virtual DSM itself (for example, the missing Virtual Machine Manager which is only present in normal DSM), not of my specific project. I'm sure Synology will have a document somewhere outlining those, instead of having us figure them out by trial and error. I consider limitations things that don't work in my project that DO work under VirtualDSM in Synology Virtual Machine Manager. And so far I still haven't found any.
