SignalFx is a Datadog competitor using streaming technology to process data in realtime.
Currently supporting Metrics and Events only. Might support Logs in a near future (SignalFx has been acquired by Splunk.

A PR based on Datadog's sink is ongoing.

Before proceeding with this we need to make sure the naming is still accurate given Splunk's acquisition of SignalFX.

@binarylogic We currently use vector for shipping our logging info to splunk, and we'd really REALLY love it if there was progress on this topic. It has been some time since acquisition... any progress?

@mengesb Hi! It's not on our roadmap currently but someone did start implementation in #2562. We'd welcome anyone picking that up and we'd be happy to help shepherd it across the line.

I know it's been over a year but whats the status of this? We need a SignalFX sink and are prepared to put some effort it but just wanted to check if one is still WIP or if theres a jumping off point to start from.

Hi @NeilJed ! I see you found the closed PR for this. We'd be happy to accept a contribution if you want to pick it back up. Note that, because it is an old PR, it is using old patterns for sinks. If you do pick it back up, looking at the datadog_logs sink is a good reference for the newest sink patterns.
