I'm currently suffering a little trying to figure out how to do this using the API docs. Do you know if I'd have to make an entirely separate companion mod to enable this kind of feature?

I've talked to deadlock briefly and his response was quite confusing for me, but informative nonetheless.

Another forum user stated in 2017 that making an entity neutral did the trick, but failed to document how. You replied to that with how Rampant decides to do stuff. I think that user is right that making the entity invulnerable would help, but you clearly have a "safe" list that prevents such attacks on certain structures without making them so.

Requesting help on the modding forums got me nowhere, really, just being told to figure it out myself with no direction.

Deadlock further responded on that same forum post with quite a bit more detail that should help in the future if I decide to progress my knowledge of lua and Factorio's systems.

Hopefully this all serves as a resource for more knowledgeable people than me :)
