A Rule-Based Syllabifier for Serbian & A Mixed-principle Rule-based Approach to the Automatic Syllabification of Serbian
This repository hosts the code of a rule-based syllabifier for Serbian based on prescriptive rules from traditional grammar devised by Aniko Kovač and Maja Marković presented at the Language Technologies & Digital Humanities conference at the University of Ljubljana, September 20-21, 2018, and a mixed-principle rule-based syllabifier for Serbian published in the Contributions to Contemporary History, Vol 59 No 1: Digital Humanities and Language Technologies. The latter is an updated and improved version of our syllabification algorithm compared to the former.
The syllabifier is also accessible via a web UI interface at: https://serbian-syllabifier.herokuapp.com/.
