This is the ViMAP Birds & Butterflies modeling environment. It allows you to build and control a NetLogo simulation of Butterflies using the ViMAP visual programming language.

To download and use this software:

  1. Download and open "BirdButterfly.jar". This will open the ViMAP environment loaded with the Birds & Butterflies simulation,
  2. Download "ViMAP-Bird-Butterfly-Sample-Model.vimap",
  3. Once ViMAP Butteflies is open, go to File > Open and select the "ViMAP-Bird-Butterfly-Sample-Model.vimap".

This will open a sample ViMAP program that simulates the nectar collection and predation of birds of butterflies. You can also start from scratch, in which case, you can skip this step.

Note: ViMAP uses JAVA, which can be downloaded and installed at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
