Issue type:
  • Feature request
Version:
thunderbird-54.0a1.en-US.win64
--
e.g. it can download from: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/2017/02/2017-02-01-03-02-07-comm-central/

Description:

I tried to use muttator in thunderbird-x64.
but it does not work. (I recognized that since muttator is javascript, it will also run on x64.)

+1

These issues occur on every single Thunderbird update.

Sometimes I'm lucky enough to bump the maxVersion in install.rdf and recompile the XPI, other times (like this) the new XP just won't work with the new Thunderbird version and I've got to wait months before a fix is released.

Is muttator actually still supported? No download link to the current version is available on any
official source. There's been no commit on this repo for almost a year. It breaks on all the recent versions of Thunderbird and nobody seems to care nor answer the tickets. Please update the status if you're no longer maintaining Muttator, at least people won't waste their time trying to make this extension work and will start building/looking for alternatives.

bump.

muttator has been broken for months by now and nobody seems to bother to even provide an ETA for a fix.

Can somebody please either have a look or let us know if muttator has been discontinued and we shouldn't even bother anymore to try and make it work?

@blacklight I mean one can always "try and make it work" by modifying the source code as it's open source. But apparently the original team isn't working on it anymore. There's a successor to Vimperator called Tridactyl started by some other people, tridactyl/tridactyl#597 talks about Muttator but there's no action as yet.
