[QUESTION] Restore Backup

I want to restore a backup. How to do that?

You should have a folder like this /path/to/folder/backups/ there you will have compressed files ending in tar.gz like this:

1. Stop the container
2. Uncompress the file
3. Now you can override files or remove the serverfiles and place the backup files
4. Start the container

Yes i was assuming this, but i get an very different folder structure when i uncompress the files.

Yes, because it's a backup of:
7 Days To Die, folder map
7 Days To Die, Server files
LinuxGSM, Files
And one more I don't remember now

Okay so i have to map the folder to subfolders.

Is there a way to see the Version of your Image (IMAGEVERSION) and the Game-Version(VERSIONGAME) in the backups? I think it has to match in a way. I choose "latest" and "stable" and now i cant load the save games.

You can check the image version checking this Support and the 7 days version with the parameter VERSION=<VERSIONGAME> as you wrote above, and in the log folder (log/console/) search sdtdserver-console.log this line INF Version: Alpha ..........., because the server print the game version at start.

I can't help you with the issue loading saves, maybe one of your file save game got corrupt or something else, can be anything

I solved the Problem as described bellow:

1. stop the container
2. script for restore backup-file and copy to right folder:

tar -xvf <BACKUP>.tar.gz  -C ./backup_unzipped/
cp -rv ./backup_unzipped/sdtdserver/serverfiles/ ./ServerFiles
cp -rv ./backup_unzipped/.local/share/7DaysToDie/ ./7DaysToDie 
cp -rv ./backup_unzipped/log/ ./log
cp -rv ./backup_unzipped/lgsm/config-lgsm/sdtdserver ./LGSM-Config:/home/sdtdserver/

3. set START_MODE = 1 (no update) to prevent version conflicts
4. run the container
