Minor Improvements #210

This PR makes a few minor changes:

A few of the checks for versions of Qt, PyQt, and Python3, as well as key dependencies, is now done in the main function so we can pop a message box to the user instead of relying on terminal output.
Made a few minor changes so we can run on older versions of Qt and Python3. Now successfully tested with Python 3.4.3 and Qt 5.2.1.
Redesigned the status LEDs on the statusbar, and moved some of the information around a bit.
