Products, Options and Fees

There are three levels to Volcano's product system: Products -> Options -> Fees.

Products

A "product" (also known as a product line) is a group of individual "product options".

Products can have metas and meta options. For example, "Size" could be a product meta with "Small", "Medium" and "Large" as meta options. Meta options can then be attached to product options (e.g., Virtual Private Server Size:Large).

Product Options

Product options are the individual entities that a customer can purchase / subscribe to. At the moment, product options are limited to a "name" but support for additional custom meta data (size, color, weight, etc) could be added in the future.

Product Option Fees

Each product option can have one or more "fees". Each fee can be configured with a name, amount (e.g. $29.99) and whether it is a one-time charge or a recurring (e.g. monthly, yearly) charge.
