Welcome to the Resources Wiki

A source of helpful information for research and being a part of the lab. Each resource is linked in the sidebar.

Getting started

If you are just joining the lab, start with the onboarding page. After that, check out our list of useful external resources.

Coding

If you will be writing code with the VoytekLab, please check out our Coding Standard Operating Procedures.

Posters

Need a poster for a conference? To learn how to construct and print, check out our Posters page. Poster templates are available here.

Writing papers

Writing is critical for all aspects of science. The lab has a few resources to help you get started. For example, we have a paper template to help you overcome the "staring at a blank white screen" problem that can make writing a paper for peer-review feel overwhelming. This template is organized like a standard manuscript, broken into sections: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion. These are then broken into subsections, each of which is labeled to describe what should be written there. This turns the task of writing a paper into a series of smaller, fill-in-the-blanks tasks, which are much more manageable. We also have tips for writing a good abstract here.

Running EEG

If you are running experiments with the lab and collecting EEG data, get familiar with the Guidelines for Running EEG.
