I've filed an issue against Meteor for the bug that is causing this issue. See: meteor/meteor#2097

Both of these bugs have been found / fixed in Meteor, so fileCollection should be back in business as soon as Meteor 0.8.1.1 drops.

Meteor v0.8.1.1 has been released and all tests in fileCollection v0.1.7 now pass again, so I'm closing this.
