(DRAFT) PWE Training Program on new CEPC

(THIS PAGE NEEDS UPDATING TO ALIGN WITH DECISIONS ALREADY TAKEN IN PWE DISCUSSIONS, AND WITH TRAINING SESSIONS ALREADY IN PROGRESS)

This page contains discussion questions, considerations, and notes to implement action items involved in Training portion of Roadmap.

PWE Training Roadmap action items

Audiences for training

  • Who are our potential audiences?
  • What is the size of these potential audiences?
  • What level of training do they need?

Training approaches

  • Do we want a training that focuses on how CEPC helps W3C achieve certain organizational goals?
  • Should part of that training be walking through the detail in the training plan?
  • Would DIY, or professional training, be best?
  • Example of a self-paced scalable DIY one-hour (55 min) training: Intro and Goals (5 min); CEPC Walkthrough (20 min); Scenarios with interactive questions (20 min); Additional resources (5 min); Recap questions (5 min).
  • This could be done the first few times as live interactive sessions to test and refine the materials.
  • Could include diverse presenters from different parts of the W3C community.

Training resources

  • How much can we customize outsourced training?
  • Can we pull off a DIY training program on this?
  • What different training approaches/styles exist and might be suitable?
  • Link out to resources such as EverFi and others

Possible Tiered Phased Training

  • This is a draft
  • Potential pre-TPAC (pre-Oct 1) goals
  • (DONE) Do a training with a pilot test group in early September including representatives of different parts of the W3C community (hosts, countries, WGs, IG, CG, BG, AB, TAG, etc)
  • Offer a live and/or recorded session to Chairs+ (and other responsible roles)
  • Awareness of existence of the new CEPC across the broader organization (FYI, please read this...)
