[indexes-1][css-backgrounds] CSS Backgrounds 3 isn't getting included in the index #1309
Comments
css-backgrounds-3 hasn't been updated to Bikeshed yet. It'll show up in the index once that happens. :) |
Bikeshed isn't required, just that the dfns are marked up in a manner that the spec parser can understand. Bikeshed just helps do it right.
The parser does try to deal with legacy specs, I'll take a look later to see if this can be handled by parser improvements.

OK, it's been updated to Bikeshed. Still not indexing correctly, though, so I don't know what's up. |

Thank you!

Still not indexing correctly, despite both the /TR and ED versions being generated via Bikeshed. Don't know what's up. @tabatkins @plinss ? |
AFAICT background-3 has its properties in the anchor database, including background-clip, don't know why it's not showing up in the index. Running |
It looks like the fixes @tabatkins pushed for #2964 (or possibly earlier changes) has fixed this. Either way, it now looks good to me. |
In the CSS property index, the background and border properties all reference CSS 2, not CSS Backgrounds and Borders Module Level 3, which I'd treat as the stable version (Candidate Rec since 2014, and I think just waiting on a few tests for progressing to Rec).
One particular consequence:
background-clip
isn't listed in the index at all.CSS Backgrounds & Borders Level 4 is linked from the Index in a couple places, for the properties with major changes, but that is still a "diff" spec, relative to Level 3. So it can't be the primary reference.
I haven't checked, but I wouldn't be surprised if the indexing method is similarly confused by diff-style drafts of other specs.
